How to Reach Barren Island from Havelock
Barren Island is accessed by boat from Havelock (Swaraj Dweep), with the journey crossing the open Andaman Sea. Our expedition departs before sunrise and spends the day offshore, allowing guests to experience the volcanic island from the water. The route and itinerary remain dependent on sea conditions, weather and required permissions.

Barren Island Trip: Booking, Cancellation & Weather Policy
1. Payment Terms
- • Advance Deposit: A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure and block each seat.
- • Balance Payment: The remaining 50% balance is due 3 days prior to the trip departure date.
2. Standard & Weather Cancellations
- • Weather Guarantee: 100% refundable if the trip is cancelled entirely due to unsuitable weather conditions or official restrictions before departure.
3. Mid-Trip Weather Disruptions
- • Alternative Experience: If unexpected weather forces us to turn back or alter course halfway through the journey, we offer a complimentary alternative trip closer to Havelock Island upon our return.
- • Partial Refund: In addition to the alternative trip, guests will receive a 50% refund of the total trip fare.

Can we go to Barren Island from Havelock?
Yes. Barren Island can be visited by boat from Havelock, subject to sea conditions, operational clearance and required permissions. The experience is conducted from the water, with no landing on the island.
Can visitors land on Barren Island?
No. Landing on Barren Island is not permitted. The experience is conducted entirely from the water, allowing guests to view the island and its active volcanic landscape from offshore. All visits remain subject to applicable permissions, sea conditions, weather and local regulations.
How many guests can join the Barren Island trip?
We accommodate a maximum of 10 to 12 guests per trip depending on the vessel (up to 10 guests on Rapid Fire, up to 12 guests on Artemis) to ensure safe, comfortable, and uncrowded voyages.
Are permit charges included?
Government permit charges are payable separately: Indian permit fee is ₹500 per person and Foreigner fee is ₹2,500 per person.

Barren Island is monitored by geological authorities. We maintain safe distances and follow all safety protocols.
